Garden
It's true, I have been moonlighting as a colour photographer - I'll be struck down by a thunderbolt at any moment. But in all seriousness it seems to me that you need to work in colour to have much of a chance in any big competitions. This photo might add weight to the theory as it won the 'Breathing Spaces' category in the 2012 International Garden Photographer of the Year competition. I chose it for entry because I thought it seemed to sum up the stated intention of the category - showing people enjoying themselves and relaxing in open spaces. In this instance, our fast-moving son with his new kite!
