Black and White Bristol

I've visited Bodiam twice, about 30 years apart. The castle was built in the late medieval period (about 1485 I think) and it has been recently discovered that the walls aren't thick enough to withstand a hit from a cannonball. It does look great though. The moat and castle are perched up on a slightly higher level than the surrounding river valley - it looks quite odd from a distance.
